Early Warning Information on Extreme Weather is issued at 14:30 JST every Monday and Thursday when very high or very low five-day average temperatures, or very heavy five-day snowfall amounts, are expected in the next 6 to 14 days with a probability of 30% or more.
The terms “very high” and “very low” refer to high or low temperatures with climatology appearance ratios of 10%.
The term “very heavy” refers to total snowfall with a climatology appearance ratio of 10%.
