MTSAT-1R has been placed in geostationary orbit on 8th of March just as planned.
The satellite is currently located at 145degrees east and will go through in-orbit test after this. On the completion of the in-orbit test of the satellite and check-out of the whole system including ground facilities, dissemination of imagery from MTSAT-1R is expected to start in late May.
