On 30th September 2022, Mr. Lilik Kurniawan (the Secretary-General of the Indonesian National Agency for Disaster Risk Reduction, or “Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana” in Indonesian) led a delegation on a visit to the Japan Meteorological Agency. The guests held discussions with JMA Director-General Mr. HASEGAWA Naoyuki on tsunami warning systems, collaborative disaster prevention and other matters. All concerned benefitted from the interaction, as Indonesia shares Japan’s high level of exposure to disaster conditions. The delegation also attended a presentation on JMA tsunami warning services and observed the Agency’s earthquake/tsunami operation office.
