On 2 November 2023, Prof. Dwikorita Karnawati (Head of the Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency of Indonesia (Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) in Indonesian)) led delegations from the Indonesian National Agency for Disaster Risk Reduction (Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) in Indonesian) and BMKG on a visit to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), and met with its Director-General OBAYASHI Masanori.

The visitors attended a presentation on JMA’s tsunami warning services and observed its earthquake/tsunami operations.
