Ms. Wong Chin Ling, the Director-General of the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS), and colleague Ms. Yap Chui Wah paid a visit to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) on 24 February 2017.

The visitors met a JMA management group led by the Agency's Director-General, Dr. Toshihiko Hashida, and discussed possible collaboration between MSS and JMA.

The delegation also discussed aeronautical meteorology, satellite meteorology, numerical weather prediction and seasonal forecasts with JMA experts, and were given a tour of JMA operational centers used for monitoring, forecasting and warning services relating to meteorological, oceanographic, seismological and volcanic activity.
