Dr. Daniel Lebel, Director General of the Geological Survey of Canada, paid a visit to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) on 1 November 2018.

Dr. Lebel met a group of JMA staff led by Keiji Doi, Director General of the Seismology and Volcanology Department, and engaged in keen discussions on earthquake monitoring systems and issuance of information on tremors and tsunamis.

Dr. Lebel was given a tour of JMA’s operational center for the monitoring of earthquakes and volcanos.
