JICA Training and Dialogue Program for Reinforcement of Meteorological Services

From 17 September to 13 December, the 2013 JICA Training and Dialogue Program for Reinforcement of Meteorological Services was held in Tokyo with eight invited attendees from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Fiji, Laos, Mozambique, Myanmar, the Philippines and Thailand. This training program is designed for participants from National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs), and is intended to provide basic knowledge and key techniques for use in numerical weather prediction, satellite meteorology and climate information for advanced meteorological services. It is also designed to build capacity for the application of these resources to the production and delivery of meteorological and climatological information needed by disaster prevention authorities and other users.
