Imagery dissemination services

Landline dissemination service (JPEG) - Internet (FTP) -

This service provides MTSAT's low-resolution imagery in JPEG format to registered National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) through the Internet at no cost. Full-disk imagery of visible and infrared channels is available every hour, while rectangular and polar-stereographic imagery from those channels is available at 30-minute intervals (N.B. polar-stereographic imagery covers East Asia only). All imagery is available within 15 minutes of observation.

How to use the landline dissemination service (JPEG)

registration process NMHSs wishing to receive JPEG photographic image files through the landline dissemination service (JPEG) need a PC/workstation, FTP software and an Internet connection. Please read the guidelines and send application form to JMA for the registration.
