MTSAT-1R successfully launched

MTSAT-1R was successfully launched at 6:25 pm JST today. The satellite was sent into space on a JAXA's H-IIA launch vehicle from the Tanegashima Space Center. The satellite was separated from the H-IIA launch vehicle forty minutes after the lift-off.

Further procedures are underway to inject MTSAT-1R into geostationary orbit. The in-orbit test of MTSAT-1R will be started in ten days, when the satellite is injected into its geostationary orbit.
