Union Minister for Transport H.E. Mr. Nyan Htun Aung of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and his delegation, including Director General of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Dr. Hrin Nei Thiam, visited the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) on 19 November 2012 after their visit to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
Union Minister and the delegation met the management staff of JMA led by Dr. Mitsuhiko Hatori, Director-General of JMA, and exchanged views on future cooperation on meteorological services to better protect people's life and property in Myanmar and Japan.
The party then observed operational centers of JMA, and was informed of JMA's state-of-the-art services on earthquakes & tsunamis, weather observations and weather forecast by executives of JMA.
