Malaysian Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Ewon Ebin and his delegation (including Malaysia Meteorological Department Director-General Ms. Che Gayah Ismail) visited the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) on 28 March 2014.
The visitors met a JMA management group led by Dr. Mitsuhiko Hatori, the then-Director-General of the organization, and exchanged views on future cooperation in the field of meteorological services.
Toward the further enhancement of such services in Malaysia, the attendees listened to a series of presentations by JMA experts on the Agency's cutting-edge activities and related information in areas such as meteorological observation, weather forecasting and warnings, marine weather information and information on earthquake, tsunami and volcanic activity. The group was then given a tour of JMA's operational centers.
Ms. Che Gayah also visited JMA's Meteorological Instrument Center (MIC) and Meteorological Research Institute (MRI), both located in the city of Tsukuba, on 27 March 2014.
